My main interests are in the study of modern transnational history and international politics. This began with research and publications on Russian and Soviet history at the crossroads of relations between Jews and the state. More recently, I have extended my research to migration studies. For the past few years I have been engaged in the completion of a major research project that will create a long-term history and analysis of modern Jewish philanthropy and advocacy. Significant side interests continue to be agrarian history and the history of modern Israel.
